On the 16th of January, supporters of the Atlanta Forest Defense/Stop Cop City campaign showed up at among many places all over the US, the DeKalb County courthouse. It is in the courthouse that the bullshit “domestic terrorism” charges based on a REPEALED state law were filed. Stop Cop City is a movement to defeat an attempt by the City of Atlanta to raze the city’s largest forest to build a huge police training range.

After calling the Atlanta Forest Defense campaign “a national hate group” in their online report https://wsvn.com/news/local/miami-dade/hotel-in-coral-gables-vandalized-with-graffiti-could-be-linked-to-national-hate-group/ FOX admitted the “national hate group” was a theory that another, unrelated occupant of the hotel was the target. This even though “Stop Cop City” is clearly painted on the sites of the Colonnades in Coral Gables, FL at 1 min 17 seconds into the TV video report.
Video is two clips from the FOX video, to show how the graffiti clearly reads “Stop Cop City” and the part at 1 min 17 seconds into the original video where FOX finally admits a different occupant of the hotel being targetted by “a national hate group” was another theory before admitting that Braswell and Gorrie(Cop City general contractor) also has offices in there.
This should have been OBVIOUS with “Stop Cop City” as the main tag on the building. Target is Brasfield & Gorrie, the main Cop City contractor.

After forest defenders took direct action against the Hotel Colonnade in Coral Gables, FL, TV news station WSVN (FOX) had the nerve to call the Stop Cop City/Defend Atlanta Forest campaign “a national hate group(?!?!).
Here is the FOX/WSVN TV 7 (Miami) report. IT is an ugly mess of lies and slander. WSVN and FOX had best hope none of the aboveground groups associated with this campaign decide to take them to court for slander:

The direct action was graffiti including the words “Stop cop city” due to the presence of a general contractor (a major target and among the most important of all targets) on the project on the building. Someone at the hotel (security?) was left wondering on FOX News 7 how the courageous warriors who got this done got their artwork high onto the side of the building

Hate groups do not use nonviolent property damage to protect forests and keep police from murdering people of color. Direct action social justice groups do not try to bring back gas chambers to use against the LGBTQ community and the Jewish community. Far-right hate groups and GOP politicians (the kind whose minions would use Cop City) are already pushing such things as registries of all trangender folks while Nazis harass drag shows and synagogues had to cancel holiday events due to terror threats. In places like Georgia and Florida, the hate groups are already inside the government.

On the 6th of January, 2023, some of the same Trump supporters and general Fascists who fought two years ago that day returned to the Capitol and also showed up at the US Supreme Court. Among them was Ashli Babbatt’s mother, who was arrested after defying police demands to move to the sidewalk from the street. Ashli Babbatt was the woman who was shot by Capitol police while on point leading the entire baying mob as they were about to storm a room containing members of Congress.
Some of the counterprotesters threw the Proud Boys slogan “fuck around and find out” back at the fascists by saying Ashli Babbatt did exactly that.The fascists started at the Supreme Court, then marched around the Capitol, facing confrontations with counterprotesters both at SCOTUS and at First and Constitution Ave NW. The arrrest of Ashli Babbatt’s mother took place as groups of fascists, Trumpers, and Christian Nationalists were marching around the Capitol in a symbolic siege remembering the real siege and assault two years earlier.
A serious concern is the growing numbers of DeSantis supporters and Christian nationalists now showing up even at Trump events. If there is a genocide in the US targeting first the trangender community, then the rest of the LGBTQ community plus Jews and Muslims that is where it will come from. This could be DeSantis making his move to wrest the flaming torch of racist hate and fascist power out of the hands of Donald Trump and claim it for himself.On the other hand, a failure to send Donald Trump to prison for J6 sends a message to all future presidents (potentially including DeSantis) of absolute immunity and unlimited power.
The arrest of Ashli Babbatt’s mother began with one cop pushing/shoving but not punching her while warning her to move to the sidewalk. She refused and was arrested as though at a civil disobedience. This stands in sharp contrast to the violent arrest of Karon Hylton’s mother at MPD’s 4D substation in Dec 2020 protesting the death of her son at the hands of MPD for riding a scooter without a helmet-and a second time INSIDE THE COURTHOUSE after the killer cops were convicted of murder and obstruction. The difference is as clear as well, black and white.

On New Year’s Eve, a lone warrior broke into a Bank of America branch in Portland, OR and set it on fire. The fire burned for more than an hour and took two alarms to put out. The communique posted to scenes.noblogs.org taking credit for the fire cites the bullshit “domestic terror” charges against six arrestees from the Dec 13 raid on the Atlanta Forest defenders as the motive.

Last night I broke into a Bank of America in Portland, Oregon and started a large fire. According to news reports, the fire grew quickly and took firefighters more than an hour to extinguish.
I attack for revenge against capital for the hell it creates, to break the illusion of police control that usually protects it, and just because I can.
Bank of America funds the Atlanta Police Foundation and a thousand other projects of control. Earlier that day, the six friends in Atlanta charged with “domestic terrorism” were released from jail. May this fire bring them some warmth in winter.
On Jan 1, 2023, a New Year’s Day drag show in Lakeland, FL went down unopposed. In early December Natsoc Florida (a hard Nazi group) had protested another show at the same venue while potential defenders were busy in Ft Lauderdale counterprotesting a Moms4Liberty/Proud Boys/”Gays against Groomers” anti-trans rally. This time defenders were ready, as they were on Dec 15 at another venue in Lakeland.
Both on Dec 15 2022 and on New Year’s Day Jan 2023, the fascists and their Christian Nationalist friends were nowhere to be found. A Proud Boy was seen somewhere in Tampa, a plumber’s truck with Jesus stuff written on it was parked at the back of a driveway across the street, and a cop’s laptop inside his car had the Christian fish sticker on it, but that was IT.
No protesters, no Proud Boys pretending to be bumblebees in their black and yellow drag, nothing.
